This guide is intended to help the new system builder "get it right the first time". That is to say, information and experiences are gathered and collected into this user guide for the sole purpose of helping the new user in assembling his/her first system using the ASUS A7N8X Deluxe motherboard. Much of the advice and guides contained herein are mostly universal; although some are not and are specific to the A7N8X. (This is not an Overclocking guide.)
For starters: after receiving your new motherboard, unpack it and give it a full inspection - front and back.
Make sure all is well. There should be no cracks, chips or de-facing of any type on the motherboard.
Allow yourself a well-lighted, clean, uncluttered work area and several hours for installation time.
Then, make sure ALL of the included equipment are in fact included.
(Verify this with your user manual, which should contain a list of items included.)
To verify your motherboard revision look between the PCI slots #2 and #3.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES PLACE YOUR MOTHERBOARD ON ANYTHING BESIDES THE PLASTIC OR PACKAGING IN WHICH IT CAME, HOWEVER, ASUS STATES YOU MAY USE A PHONE BOOK. CAUTIOUS HANDLING IS PRIMARY AS ELECTROSTATIC CHARGES CAN DAMAGE YOUR PC PARTS.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD THE POWER BE PLUGGED IN WHILE WORKING ON ANY PART OF, OR INSTALLING ANY PART OF THE PC.
For persons new to PC building, I highly advise you thoroughly read the manuals supplied with your equipment. This to better familiarize yourself with the basics. If you are unsure, ask - no question is ever "stupid". It is also very important to follow the guide in the order provided.
So, shall we begin?
